The Go2Grove project is designed to provide Ukrainian refugees in European countries with capacity-building opportunities that will help them improve their quality of life, reduce the risk of marginalization, and facilitate their integration into European society by supporting their entry into the agricultural labor market. At the same time, the project will help the EU Mediterranean countries better utilize their economic competitive advantage derived from olive oil production, while equipping European Vocational education and training (VET) programs with a tailored curriculum for the olive oil sector.
The Go2Grove project has the following general objectives:
to develop a VET program for capacity-building of Ukrainian refugees in olive cultivation & olive oil production;
to equip VET providers/trainers with a training program that will support their professional development and help them face the challenge of welcoming Ukrainian refugees as VET learners in their education and training activities;
to pilot the VET program with the target groups through activities that provide work-based learning opportunities for capacity-building in olive cultivation and olive oil production;
to develop an innovative e-learning platform along with self-assessment quizzes for self-regulated learning opportunities:
to disseminate the project results and activities and raise their impact at local/regional, national, and EU levels;
The Go2Grove project is expected to produce the following results:
The Go2Grove Digital Handbook, an eBook of 6 chapters with information about all aspects of the olive oil production process, based on photos, accompanied by text, aiming to be as comprehensive as possible for Ukrainian refugees;
The Go2Grove Video collections, 12 instructional videos regarding the main agricultural activities, divided into 2 collections, one for olive oil production (6 videos) and one for olive cultivation (6 videos); the latter will be accompanied by inclusive photo-based documents describing every stage of it;
The Go2Grove Platform, with 3D elements, containing both the Digital Handbook and the Video collection, into two spaces displayed as an olive grove-lookalike environment, and will also include interactive quiz corners for practicing and evaluating the acquired knowledge, and providing single-point access to the training content developed;
Dissemination means, materials, & events.
